Day 17 of our World cruise.  January 20, 2025

Yesterday at 4 pm our ship pulled away from port in Salvador, Brazil.  Today we will be at sea and traveling south to Rio de Janeiro, arriving there tomorrow morning.  We will be docked there for two full days, so we have an excursion planned for each day.

While on the pool deck we noticed another cruise ship traveling north as we were headed south.  It was the MSC Grandiosa.  A much larger ship than ours. About 150 feet longer and 50 feet wider, and a capacity of over 6000 passengers. Twice as much as our 3000 passenger ship.

Today has been another relaxing day by the pool enjoying our World Games competition.  We also attended a special demonstration by our guest executive chef from Brazil.

After lunch we went to our cabin to watch the inauguration.  We get three news channels on our TV.  Sky News, BBC, and MSNBC.  We bounced around between them and watched only if the news anchor’s were not talking.
