Day 39 of our World cruise.  February 11, 2025

Our position today.

We are in the South Pacific Ocean heading west toward French Polynesia.  We will pass Robinson Crusoe Island today at about 5 PM, on our way to our next stop at Hanga Roa, commonly known as Easter Island.  It will take four days to get there, so today is the first of a four day sea run.

Robinson Crusoe Island

Yesterday we left Valparaiso at 7:30 PM.  At around 9:30 PM the Captain informed us we were headed back to port as a crew member had a medical emergency. Two hours later we were back and dropping a tender into the water to transport the crew member to shore.

From information received from a confidential informant, I discovered the crew member was a 42 year old bar attendant and was having chest pains.  The ship’s doctor did not want to take any chances and ordered the ship to turn around and take the crew member ashore for medical treatment.  I’ve also learned that the crew member is in the hospital back in Valparaiso in stable condition.  Good to hear.

Tonight at dinner in the main dining room it was American night.

  1. Prayers for the crew member who needed immediate medical attention.
Can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned American cuisine meal!
